What is the difference between PET film heater and PI film heater
PET and PI are two kinds of substrates for electrothermal film. However, what is the difference between different substrates for the same electrothermal film? Let's share the following:


First of all, let's understand what is PET and PI:
PET is the abbreviation of compulsory terephthalate, short for PET or PETP. Polyterephthalic acid plastics, which mainly include polyethylene terephthalate PET and butyl terephthalate PBT. Polyethylene terephthalate is also known as polyester resin, commonly known as polyester resin. It is a polycondensation of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol. Together with PBT, it is called thermoplastic polyester, or saturated polyester.
PI, commonly known as Polyimide in Chinese, is an aromatic heterocyclic polymer whose molecular structure contains imide chains. It is also known as Polyimide(PI) in English. It can be divided into four categories, namely, benzoyl PI, soluble PI, polyamide-imide (PAI) and polyether imide(PEI).
The difference between PET and PI can be divided into the following two points:
I. Material: PET electrothermal film is a transparent electrothermal film, while PI electrothermal film is an opaque electrothermal film.
2. Difference in temperature resistance: PET is a low-temperature electrothermal film, which can bear a low temperature for a long time. The highest temperature of PET electrothermal film can reach 80℃, but for safety reasons, the electrothermal film must be equipped with temperature controller. PI film is a high temperature electrothermal film, which can withstand the temperature up to 250℃ for a long time. However, for safety reasons, the normal temperature of PI electrothermal film is set at 120±5℃.
