Cartridge Heater
Cartridge heaters are essential heating components for industrial applications. Their compact cylindrical design enables efficient heat transfer in confined spaces. These heaters are commonly used in:
- Plastic injection molding
- Packaging machinery
- Aerospace equipment
- Laboratory instruments
Jaye Heater's Cartridge Heater Features:

- Durable Construction - High-quality materials for extended service life
- Energy Efficient - Improved thermal transfer reduces power consumption
- Custom Options - Available in various wattages, sizes, and voltage specifications

Cartridge Heater Construction:
-
Heating Coil: High grade nickel chromium resistance wire
-
Insulation: Magnesium Oxide (MgO) And Mgo Tube.
-
Sheath: SUS304, SUS321, SUS316L, Incoloy800, 840, Titanium
-
Sealing: Ceramics, silicone, glass, RTV adhesive, silicone oil, etc
-
Termination: Allowing for terminations with leads either straight or at a right angle.
-
Lead Wire Type: Fiberglass is the typical lead wire in high-temperature industrial settings, though variations may be employed based on specific task requirements.

Lead Wire Connection Types:
Cartridge heaters made by Jaye have two types of outlet leads: crimped-on or swaged-in Leads construction that consists in a high-grade nickel chromium resistance wire wound around a high-quality MgO core or tube that is centered in a stainless steel casing. Compared with the same large heat electric heating element, Cartridge Heater can save 5% of the electrothermal material, and the thermal efficiency can reach more than 90%.
Swaged-In Lead Wire:
In swaged-in lead wire configuration, the lead wire is mechanically secured to the cartridge heater using a swaging process. This involves tightly compressing the lead wire against the heater sheath.
Advantages: Provides a robust mechanical connection, reducing the risk of detachment. Improved resistance to vibration and mechanical stress.
Crimp-On Lead Wire:
Crimp-on lead wire involves attaching the lead wire to the cartridge heater by crimping a metal connector onto the exposed end of the heater's lead.
Advantages: Relatively simple and cost-effective. Allows for easier replacement of lead wires if needed.
Choosing between swaged-in and crimp-on lead wires often depends on the specific requirements of the application. Swaged-in leads are preferred for applications with high vibration or mechanical stress, where a more secure connection is crucial. Crimp-on leads may be suitable for applications where cost-effectiveness and ease of replacement are higher priorities.
