How to delay the scale formation on the surface of the electric heating element?

 

In the process of heating water by the electric heating element, the calcium and magnesium ions in the water will condense on the surface of the metal heating element with high temperature after being heated and decomposed, and it will form scale over time. The formation of scale is directly related to the concentration of calcium and magnesium ions in the water. The more calcium and magnesium ions, the more scale will appear when the water is boiled.

 

We usually use "hardness" to describe the amount of calcium and magnesium ions in the water. If there are more calcium and magnesium ions, it will produce more scale, which is hard water, and the opposite is soft water. Different areas, including different water sources (surface water or groundwater) in the same area, have different hardness.

 

The corrosion and condensation of scale on the metal heating element will reduce the thermal efficiency in the lighter case, resulting in waste of electric energy, while in the worst case, the heating tube will burst, endangering human life; the erosion of the scale on the metal inner tank cannot be ignored, and the water output will become smaller. In severe cases, the inner tank leaks, causing the entire water heater to be scrapped. The heating tube is the core component of the heating container, and its material and heating structure will directly affect the safety of consumers.

For the delay of scale, we can take the following measures:

 

1. Considering the heating element itself, we generally recommend that the surface load of the customer should not be too high, that is, the power per meter should not be too high (the power per meter of the element should be controlled within 2KW/m), so as to reduce the surface temperature of the heating element.

 

2. Secondly, the material itself can be stainless steel 304, 316, 310S or use our anti-scaling coating electric heating element, which can play a great role in anti-scaling.

 

3. Soften the water
