Mineral Insulated Thermocouple is constructed by compacting highly pure magnesium oxide (MgO) powder inside a metal sheath (typically stainless steel or Inconel) to fully insulate one or more pairs of thermocouple wires.
This unique construction makes it exceptionally robust, resistant to vibration, corrosion, and high pressures. MI Thermocouples are the go-to choice for applications where standard armored thermocouples would fail, offering superior accuracy and longevity in extreme environments. They can be supplied as a bare sensing element or as a complete assembly with a connection head and terminal block.
