Jaye Heater recently supplied custom silicone mug heaters to a European customer for use in heat press equipment at a mug printing facility.
The equipment is used to transfer printed designs and graphics onto mugs as part of the heat transfer printing process.
This project highlights the application of silicone rubber heating elements in mug printing equipment and demonstrates how customized heaters can be manufactured to meet the requirements of specific equipment designs.
Customer Application: Mug Heat Transfer Printing
In the heat transfer printing industry, mug press machines are commonly used to apply printed designs to mugs. During the transfer process, the heating element provides the heat required by the equipment to transfer the design onto the mug's surface.
For equipment manufacturers and printing businesses, choosing a suitable heating element involves more than simply selecting a heater by appearance. The heater needs to fit the machine's structure and meet the electrical, installation and operating requirements of the intended application.
For this European customer, Jaye supplied silicone mug heaters configured for use in its mug heat press equipment.
Why Silicone Mug Heaters Are Used in Mug Press Equipment
Silicone rubber heaters are flexible heating elements that can be manufactured in different shapes and dimensions to suit specific applications. Their flexibility makes them suitable for heating applications involving curved surfaces, including mug press equipment.
When developing or replacing a heater for a mug printing machine, several factors need to be considered:
- Shape and dimensions: The heater must be compatible with the mug and the machine's heating assembly.
- Electrical specifications: Voltage and power should match the equipment's design and heating requirements.
- Installation and connections: Cable arrangement and other installation details need to be compatible with the machine.
- Operating requirements: The required temperature and heating cycle depend on the actual printing process and equipment configuration.
These factors should be assessed according to the specific machine design. The appropriate heater configuration may differ between equipment models and applications.
Custom Silicone Heater Manufacturing for Equipment Applications
Unlike standard off-the-shelf products, custom silicone rubber heaters can be manufactured according to application-specific requirements.
Jaye Heater provides customized silicone heating elements for mug presses and other heat transfer equipment. Depending on the project, customization may cover heater shape, dimensions, electrical specifications and lead-wire arrangement, subject to technical review and manufacturing feasibility.
For this project, Jaye supplied silicone mug heaters tailored to the European customer's equipment requirements. The order illustrates how custom heating elements can serve as components within specialized printing equipment.
For equipment manufacturers, machine integrators and businesses maintaining existing mug presses, working with a heating element manufacturer that can review custom requirements is useful when standard heater configurations do not match the equipment design.
