Why does 3D Printer need a silicone rubber heater?
Today I will share with you about necessity of the silicone rubber heater in the 3D printer enclosure heater.
1. Reasons for edge warping
The silicone rubber heater is a unique accessory for FDM (Fused Deposition) printers. The main purpose is to prevent edge warping. So what is the reason for the edge up? The warping is caused by the material cooling and shrinking. Different materials have different shrinkage rates, so the degree of edge curling is also different, but one thing is certain, edge curling is inevitable and can only reduce the impact of edge curling. So some users say: "I print PLA materials, so there is no need to use silicone rubber heate". Wrong, the effect of printing PLA materials from different manufacturers is also different, but some of the edges are not obvious, and some are serious.

2. Why silicone rubber heater can reduce the warping
The silicone rubber heater can't eradicate the warp, it can only reduce it. The main principle is to keep the contact surface between the printed part and the silicone rubber heater at a higher temperature (PLA60℃ABS105℃) by heating the silicone rubber heater to prevent the model from being warped due to material cooling during the printing process.

3. Comparative analysis of the performance of different hot beds
A. Polyimide heating film (yellow soft, you can add tape), heating unevenly, easy to damage, you need to add 3M tape to fix it to the aluminum plate, you need to customize.
B. Heating rods & aluminum plates are heated unevenly, and at the same time, the aluminum plates need to be very thick.
C.Silicone rubber heater is a good heating bed at present. It has uniform heating, no aluminum plate can be added, manual leveling can be added, stable work and long service life.
