1. Physical Properties

The silicone carbide heaters are hard and brittle, resistant to rapid cooling and heating, and should not be deformed at high temperatures.


2. Chemical Properties

Silicon carbide heater help has good chemical stability and strong acid resistance. Under high temperature conditions, alkaline substances have an aggressive effect on it.

Long-term use of elements above 1000 ℃ can produce the following effects with oxygen and water vapor:

① SiC + 2O2-> SiO2 + CO2

② SiC + 4H2O = SiO2 + 4H2 + CO2

As a result, the content of SiO2 in the element gradually increases, and the resistance increases slowly, aging it. If too much water vapor, it will promote the oxidation of SiC. The H2 produced by the ② reaction combines with O2 in the air to form H2O and then reacts with SiC to produce a vicious cycle, reducing the life of the elements. H2 can reduce the mechanical strength of elements. N2 can prevent the oxidation of SiC below 1200 ℃, and react with SiC above 1350 ℃ to decompose SiC, and Cl2 can completely decompose SiC.


3. Electrical Performance

The resistant and temperature characteristic of silicon carbide heating rod, the resistivity of the heated part of the element is 1000 oΩmm2/M at 1400 ℃, it changes with the temperature of the element.
