The importance of temperature control for thick film printing heaters

Screen printing is a multi-purpose technology with increasing applications in many fields. Thick film heaters are inexpensive and can be mass-produced, so they will undoubtedly be widely used. At present, heaters have been used in soldering irons and various sensors, the latter containing humidity monitors and devices connected to tin oxide sensitive components. The heater developed in this work is mainly used to connect the oxidation sensor that works at temperatures above 700. Lead is an oxygen ion conductor at high temperatures, so it can be used as an electrolyte in the oxygen sensor. Common working methods are potential measurement and current measurement. Potential measurement is basically a zero current method, the ceramic electrolyte in the concentration difference battery generates Nernst electromotive force; the current measurement method is that oxygen is pumped through lead oxide by electrochemical methods, and its speed depends on the oxygen migration speed through the diffusion barrier. In the current measurement mode, the allowable temperature fluctuates within ±50. The stabilized power supply provides a simple power supply system, more accurate temperature control and higher stability for the heater as a whole. It is possible to use thermocouples as such temperature-sensitive components, but there are disadvantages: a stable cold junction or proper cold junction temperature compensation is required. In sensor applications, the environment may contain various gas flow rates and sample gas temperatures. When disturbance occurs, the performance that meets the requirements is an important indicator of sensor application.
