Reasons For The Failure Of KSD Thermostat Thermal Bimetallic Strip
The bimetal of KSD thermostat is a kind of composite metal, which is generally composed of two or more layers of metals or alloys with different expansion coefficients being firmly composited along the entire contact surface. Its working principle is that when the temperature changes, the shape of the hot bimetal will change, so that the KSD thermostat can well control the sudden jump and recovery of the temperature.
KSD thermostat thermal bimetal has two failure modes: zero drift failure and crack failure caused by thermal bimetal.
Zero-point drift refers to the sudden jump or recovery action of the thermal bimetal at a temperature higher or lower than the required temperature. There are three main cases of zero drift caused by hot bimetal:
1.The unqualified performance parameters of the thermal bimetal result in zero drift.
2. The unqualified size parameters of the thermal bimetal lead to zero drift.
3. The interlayer separation of the thermal bimetal causes the zero point drift.
The thermal bimetallic sheet fails due to cracking, and the layers are separated from the thermal bimetallic sheet. When the crack propagation force of the thermal bimetallic sheet is greater than the interface force of the thermal bimetallic sheet, the thermal bimetallic sheet will crack and fail.
