1. Slight damage
When the experimental electric furnace works for a long time, the phenomena of softening, expansion, falling, first lodging and lapping, and then fusing (melting) occur in the heating experience. If the furnace wire with lodging trend appears in the process of use, first check whether the small hook of the furnace wire works, and bake the furnace wire with gas welding or blowtorch to soften it, then restore its original shape and size, and wear porcelain tube (mandrel can be worn in the porcelain tube) in the furnace wire. If two porcelain pipes are used at the same time, the end of the porcelain pipe must be close to each other.
2. Serious damage
Generally, the heating elements of the experimental electric furnace can be directly welded and repaired. For those that collapse seriously and cannot be straightened, and those that are severely damaged by local overburning, it is generally possible to replace and repair one section. It is not necessary to scrap the whole set because some of them are unqualified. It should be noted that the material, diameter, pitch and length of the resistance wire used for repair welding should meet the original technical requirements, and the newly repaired resistance wire should not have cracks Rust and other defects shall be evenly distributed. When using the old resistance wire, the resistance wire shall not have obvious uneven thickness, oxidation corrosion, crack deformation and aging embrittlement. The old lead out rod shall not have serious oxidation and corrosion.

Through the above two repair methods, the heating elements of the experimental electric furnace can be repaired to meet the use requirements. However, the heating elements with more serious damage can only be replaced, and the selection of appropriate heating elements is also one of the methods to prolong their service life.
