The traditional automobile heating system is that the hot water after cooling the engine block is introduced into the radiator of the air heater in the cab through the pipe. When the hot water flows through the radiator, the air near the radiator is heated, and then the heated air is blown out by the blower motor. The heated air is sent to the corresponding parts of the cab through the air duct to provide heating, glass defrosting or defogging. Because there is no engine on the pure electric vehicle, it is driven by the motor instead, so there is no hot water to cool the engine to heat the cab. In order to reduce the development cost, these electric vehicle heating control systems replace the water heating radiator in the original heater with PTC heater, while the mechanical heating air conditioning control panel, air duct, air conditioning refrigeration core body and heater structure in the original model remain unchanged, thus forming the cooling and heating air conditioning system of electric vehicles.
Vehicle PTC heater is a combination of several single-chip PTCR thermal ceramic elements, bonded with corrugated heat dissipation aluminum strip by high-temperature adhesive, and assembled with temperature protection elements to heat the cab. Its biggest characteristic lies in its safety: when the fan is blocked in case of failure, even if the temperature protection element is not installed, the PTC heater will not get sufficient heat dissipation, the temperature will rise, and the power will automatically drop sharply. At this time, the surface temperature of the heater will be kept at Curie temperature, so that the surface of resistance heater will not be "red". Because of this characteristic and its wide voltage range, it is more suitable for use in electric vehicles.
