PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heating elements are solid-state, self-regulating heaters made for low-voltage DC applications up to12V. PTC heating elements consist of ceramic-type materials having built-in thermal feedback; they provide safe, efficient heat without the need for external controls, making them well suited to automotive, portable, and battery-powered systems. The resistance of ceramic will ramp exponentially at a specified Curie temperature (for example, 60°C - 220°C maintaining a maximum surface temperature), preventing overheating.
