How to use NTC thermistor?

1. Temperature compensation in the instrument circuit
In instrumentation circuits, there are many components made of wire like wirewound resistors. The metal wire generally has a positive temperature coefficient, and the NTC thermistor with a negative temperature coefficient is used for compensation, which can offset the error caused by the temperature change.

2. NTC is used in transistor circuits to stabilize the operating point
A simple transistor current amplifier with a large NTC thermistor RT in the base loop. When the ambient temperature changes, the output current of the line will also change. After increasing the NTC, the collector DC current of the transistor at this stage can be automatically adjusted to stabilize the output gain of the transistor.

3. Use NTC thermistor as temperature measuring device
Thermistor thermometer. Since the resistance of the thermistor changes with temperature, the indication of the microammeter connected between the diagonals of the bridge also changes accordingly. The accuracy of the thermistor thermometer can reach 0.1 ℃ temperature sensitivity below 10s.
