- Hot runner coil heaters, which are integral to hot runner systems for plastic injection molding, are designed to heat the nozzles, manifolds, or sprues in the hot runner system, thereby keeping the plastic at the proper temperature during the process of injection molding. Hot runner coil heaters are constructed from nickel-chrome wire, and can be used in a number of fashions: either they can be wrapped around the nozzle, or placed in grooves where efficiency will improve heat transfer.
