Thick film heating elements are becoming more and more popular for heating water. Since the thermal mass of the thick film elements is low, nearly all generated heat will be dissipated into the water. This low thermal mass also means that energy is transferred to the water almost the second that the electricity is switched on. Very important when heating small volumes like a single cup of water. In this energy conscious age we can conserve water and energy by heating just enough for our needs instead of the minimum required by the heating medium. This results in an extremely high efficiency. Puts energy into the water almost immediately the electricity is applied, under-floor heaters must first heat them selves before putting energy into the water.
More complex temperature control can be introduced with electronics, for example, select a temperature to reach then switches off or simmer. Boil first then simmer at a pre-selected temperature.
Power ratings up to 3.1kW are possible on a disc diameter of 120mm. and different diameters and design can be customized based on appliance’s requirements.
