Polymer PTC heating elements are an ideal choice for new product offerings due to their excellent efficiency, fast heat-up rate, precise temperature control and safe operation. They are commonly found in many home appliances such as hair dryers, space heaters, electric grills and kettles. Polymer PTC heating elements are also used in medical equipment and industrial devices. Their instant on/off capabilities provide precise temperature control and make them ideal for applications that require low-energy usage and fast heat-up times or fast cooling-down times. Polymer PTC heating elements are available in a variety of specifications including resistance, voltage, current and wattage ratings. They may be built from a wide range of materials, from thermoplastics such as PEEK, PPS, and PPSU to thermosets like Epoxy and Silicone. Thermal ratings range from -55°C to 300°C, depending on the type of material used, with wattages typically ranging from 10 watts for small single-phase applications to 1000s of watts for high-power industrial solutions. Switching/thermal protection is included as part of the assembly and can be tailored to the customer's requirements (on/off temperature, trip current, trip time etc).
